Next year’s calendar is therefore special, as it will mark the 20th edition of Anne Geddes calendars since they were initially published.
There are some other interesting aspects of Anne’s 1st calendar.
1) it did not have an image on the cover!!!!!!!!
2) It was oversized compared to calendars today, which are mostly 12 x 12 inches (30 x 30cms), it was a 17 x 17 inch version (44cms x 44cms).
3) The calendar was sold through camera store outlets, not where calendars were regularly sold as they are today. It was the only retail outlet that Anne, and her husband Kel, could arrange to sell them.
4) It was also the start, for Anne and Kel, in the giving money to the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
That was the reason behind the publishing of the calendar. Sales generated $20,000 for the cause. To date, not only through calendars, the non-profit Geddes Philanthropic Trust has donated more than US$4.5 million in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Europe, and the United States.
5) The 1st calendar was only available for sale in New Zealand.
By comparison, Anne’s 2011 range, based on her new book Beginnings, will be available in over 30 countries in 19 languages.
You will love the variety in the 2011 range, as there are three titles, with two new titles that we are sure you will think are both lovely and also interesting.
Naturally when they are published we would love to hear what you think.

I have never seen any work as beautiful as Anne's work. The first time I saw her work was on a greeting card and then on I never forgot her name. I never forgot Anne Geddes and CRY.
